about me

I have always been drawn to visual arts. Art museums were recurrent places during my childhood. But it wasn’t until I attended After School Matters, a Chicago Public Schools program for teenagers, that I realized that painting my own works would become a life passion. Since, I have taken several art classes at the Art Institute of Chicago and DePaul University. My paintings have been exhibited at Studio Nez and Hairpin Art Gallery. My preferred media is acrylic paint, although I have also worked with watercolor, oil paint, charcoal, pastel, and multimedia. I am most interested in the human subject. To me, painting portraits is a form of introspection that drives a better understanding of the world around me and the people that live in it.
